If you believe your iSteady V3 Ultra is acting up or not functioning correctly as expected, don't worry, we can begin the troubleshooting first before defining the problem as malfunction or gimbal defectiveness.
Below are some problems and answers to help you figure out what's happening:
| Question | Answers for Reference |
| 1. why the built-in extension pole can't be fully pulled back? | Please note that if the built-in extension pole remains fully extended for a long period, it may gradually change shape. Should this occur, kindly follow these steps: Gently retract the pole partially, leaving approximately 5cm extended. Leave it in place for about 2 hours. Fully retract the pole afterward. As a friendly reminder, to maintain optimal performance, we recommend fully retracting the extension pole after each use and storing it properly. |
| 2. the AI module is warm/hot/getting overheated | When the AI Tracker switch is turned on, the module enters standby mode and is ready to recognize signals at any time—whether actively tracking or not. It’s completely normal for it to become warm during operation. Rest assured, we’ve conducted rigorous testing on this functionality. There’s no need for concern! If the AI is not working and getting hot at the same time, then please contact us for support! |
| 3. when using the panoramic feature on the remote controller, it's not synthesized successfully | Regarding the panoramic photo feature on the V3 Ultra controller: When using your native camera apps for panoramic shots, they only capture standard photos from specific angles. These require stitching software to create a true panoramic image. For seamless panoramic photography, we recommend using the panoramic photo feature in Hohem Joy. It captures complete panoramic images directly in a single take—no additional software needed!" |
| 4. when plugged in, the remote controller screen is flashing | The charging voltage is insufficient. A charger with at least 5V or higher is required. |
| 5. why can't I set the AI on the top when in landscape mode? | When in landscape mode, the AI is on the bottom by default, don't support to set the AI on the top in landscape mode, sorry for any inconveniences. |
| 6. the gimbal can't turn on unless plugged in, or will auto shut down during normal use or the screen will show "no signal" during use. | It could be wires disconnection issue, need to contact the customer support team for replacement |
| 7. AI tracking is fine, but the fill light is not working, can't turn on | If both the side wheel button and the remote controller can't turn on the fill light, then the whole gimbal will need to be replaced, the wheel button or the part that control the fill light inside the gimbal may be damaged. |
| 8. the light on AI can turn to green color but it's not tracking, or the joystick can't control the gimbal to rotate up or down and right or left | Need to share the firmware version and serial number of the gimbal for verification, could be solved by updating to new version of firmware (info can be found by: Hohem Joy App--Me--upper right corner--Device Information) |
| 9. once the gimbal is on, the pan axis keeps spinning/circling | Need to share the firmware version and serial number of the gimbal for verification, could be solved by updating to new version of firmware |
| 10. the remote controller is not able to pair with the gimbal | If by manually pair again( press the side button for five times in a row and then press the side wheel for five times in a row), still not able to pair them successfully, then gimbal will need to be replaced |
| 11. can't hold charge and can't turn on | If the gimbal is not charged regularly, the battery may become slightly over-discharged. Troubleshooting steps: Replace the charging cable or charging head with recommended specifications(5V 2A) Connect it to power and charge for a longer period; if possible, try charging it overnight. Try pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds to see if the gimbal restarts. If all these attempts are not helpful, don't worry, contact our service team to claim warranty |
| 12. the display shows "no signal", other functions are working normally | Please remove the AI and re-attach it and see if it solves the problem, you can also reboot the gimbal, if still not helping, then it could be wires disconnection or short circuit issue, need to contact the customer support team. |
| 13. the remote controller will reboot repeatedly | Connection between the remote and the gimbal maybe disconnected, need to replace the gimbal |
| 14. gimbal can't be powered on along with these details: motors can't get upright and keep rebooting OR when powered on or plugged in, the battery indicator will shows green light--yellow light and turn to red light at last while motors can't get upright normally | if you can share a video showing the problem? Did the problem happen at the first use or the gimbal used to work normally but suddenly or recently has this problem? Meanwhile, please share the serial number of this gimbal for further analysis and help claim warranty for customer |
| 15.When the remote control is attached to the handle, there is an image; after removing it, there is no image. | If there is no image after removing the remote control from the handle, and the gimbal cannot be controlled, it may be because the gimbal handle has no signal. In this case, a replacement for the whole unit is required. |
